I developed a smidgen of empathy for the dub haters out there when I decided to pop in 2002's ADV Films release Happy Lesson...it's a dumb "harem" show, and the main character's name is Chitose; Even I know enough Japanese to know it should be pronounced roughly like "Chi-Toe-Say". How did the ADV Films ADR director have his cast say it? "Chitos", darn near close to "Cheetos" (the puffy cheese snack). Gah, that was fingernails-on-a-chalkboard levels of bad. It was really painful to listen to. Dubs today are FAR superior.
