So I stayed in tonight doing nothing but watching 2 shows on Neon Alley that are exclusive to the channel insofar as there is not yet a domestic DVD release of the English dub of either show. The two shows I took in were (in order) Accel World and Fate/Zero. Of the two, I found Accel World vastly more entertaining, though perhaps my opinion is colored by the fact that it was early evening when I started, where I was starting to fade from fatigue by the time Fate/Zero, the prequel series to Fate/Stay Night came on.
Fate/Stay Night was a reasonably entertaining series full of fantasy action. The reboot condensed feature film, Ultimate Bladeworks, was intense and awesome and I went out and bought the Blu-Ray release of it almost immediately.
Fate/Zero? Watching the first episode, I said aloud on Facebook & Twitter "Fate/Zero Action is more like it." Ugh. So much damn talky info-dump....with a teaser of magical action only at the very end with the Sabre reveal.
I watched a few episdoes, but I'm just exhausted and it doesn't hold my interest to want to stay up past midnight to catch all the episodes being screened tonight. I've seen my fill and desire sleep more than anything. I am glad I decided to start early and watch Accel World uninterrupted from Ep.1 thru Ep. 5; My iPhone case actually features the female lead from this series in her "normal" (non-combat) avatar form. Glad to actually see this character in action.
